Complete Dental Implant Surgery, Tailored to Your Specific Needs
Dr. Roger Parkes and Dr. R. Clarke Stewart have the skill and experience to offer complete dental implant surgery services. At their Jackson, MS, practice, they use advanced imaging technology to plan precise procedures. They can place and restore dental implants, and they also perform advanced preparatory procedures, such as bone grafting and sinus lifts. The doctors at Periodontal Associates of Jackson offer personalized treatment, and they will carefully plan your procedure in advance. With their comprehensive care, you can enjoy stunningly lifelike support for restorations that can last the rest of your life.
What to Expect during Your Surgery
Before your procedure, we will numb your gums and jawbone. We can also provide deeper sedation, if desired. Once you are comfortable, Dr. Parkes or Dr. Stewart will make small incisions in your gums. Through these tiny openings, your dentist will create a space for your implants, and will then place them in your jaw. Our doctors use the precise, accurate images taken at your consultation to position the posts in the strongest, healthiest portions of bone. When finished, Dr. Parkes or Dr. Stewart will close your incisions.
If you receive traditional implants, it will usually take about four to six months for your jaw to heal. During your recovery, the bone tissue will knit around the implants, and they will replace your tooth roots. After your recovery, you will come back into the office so we can attach abutment pieces to your dental implants. These specialized pieces are made of highly durable materials, and will connect your restoration to your implants.
During this second procedure, we will once again provide all necessary anesthesia and sedation for your comfort. Once you are numb, Dr. Parkes or Dr. Stewart will carefully and gently create another small incision in your gums to access the implant and attach the abutment. You will then spend about two weeks recovering, allowing your gums to heal before receiving your customized dental crown, bridge, or denture.
We can often provide Teeth-in-a-day. With this dental implants treatment, your dentist will attach a restoration immediately after your implant surgery.
Types of Dental Implant Surgery
In addition to performing traditional implant surgery, we can also customize your procedure to meet your particular needs. We offer several types of dental implants, including mini implants and immediate load implants. These smaller posts will impact less of your jawbone, meaning we can often provide Teeth-in-a-day. With this treatment, your dentist will attach a restoration immediately after your implant surgery. You will not need to spend months healing before undergoing a second procedure to receive abutment pieces.
We also offer the All-on-4® method. During this procedure, you will receive four dental implants. The front two will be placed vertically, while the back two implants will be placed at an angle. This placements makes the most of your current jawbone tissue and can also provide same-day dentures with mini implants.
