When you look in the mirror and smile do you see more of your gum than you wish? Unfortunately, there are health reasons that cause you to have a “gummy smile
Listed below are some reasons that you may have a gummy smile:
- Excessive visible gum tissue - If your gum tissue covers part of your teeth your gums will become more visible than normal.
- Hyperactive lip muscles - This is when your lip raises higher than normal and exposes more of your gum tissue when you smile.
- Development of your upper jaw bone - If your upper jaw bone grew and developed incorrectly it could be exposing more of your gums than normal.
