Tooth sensitivity affects almost half the population of the United States. If you have pain when biting into foods that are hot, cold, sweet, sour, or even if just pressure causes pain, you may be one of them.

The pain from tooth sensitivity can be temporary or long-lasting. It can come and go over time, and can range anywhere from extreme pain to simply mild discomfort.

Sometimes this sensitivity can be easily treated, but there are other times when it may be an indicator of a more serious underlying problem, including trauma, or some of the kinds of dental ailments that we treat in our Jackson, MS office. When it comes to treating dental sensitivity, the first step is to identify the cause.

We’ll be looking into some of those causes over the course of our next few blog posts, so, in the meantime, be sure to follow us on Twitter and like us on Facebook.
