If you are looking for additional ways to get some relief from your dry mouth, here are some suggestions.

What to cut or limit to find relief:

Dry mouth is more than just an inconvenience and can lead to greater health issues if untreated such as severe tooth decay and gum disease. According to the Oral Cancer Foundation, 30 percent of all tooth decay in older adults is caused by dry mouth. It is very important to recognize the symptoms and begin treatment early. Early detection will not only bring about more comfort, but could save your teeth! The longer you wait, the more likely the damage will be harder to reverse.

All of us at Periodontal Associates of Jackson hope these tips will help create healthier smiles and mouths! For more information on oral health visit the American Dental Association.
