OUR PERIODONTISTS
 Roger B. Parkes, D.M.D., M.S.D.
was born in Memphis, TN, and reared in Jackson, a graduate of St. Joseph High School. He attended Ole Miss on a football scholarship, graduating in 1974. He was accepted into the first class at the University of Mississippi School of Dentistry and received his dental doctorate in 1979. Influenced by the first dean of the Dental School, Dr. Wallace V. Mann, he chose to pursue a specialty degree in periodontics. He was accepted into the 1979 graduate periodontics class at Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, TX, and received his Masters of Science in Dentistry in the fall of 1981. He has been in private practice of periodontics since 1981 and is on the staff of three Jackson area hospitals. Dr. Parkes is a former assistant professor at the University of Mississippi School of Dentistry. He is a member of the American Academy of Periondotology, the American Dental Association and is past president of the Mississippi Association of Periodontists and the Jackson Dental Society. His interests are travel and spending time with his two children, K.B., who is a dental student at UMC School of Dentistry, and Liza, who is in college.
 R. Clarke Stewart, D.M.D.
completed his undergraduate training with a B.S. degree in Biology from Mississippi College in 1980 and graduated cum laude from the University of Mississippi School of Dentistry in 1987. At the time of his graduation, he received the Dean's Scholarship Award and the International College of Dentists' Award. He was also a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honorary Dental Society. Dr. Stewart received his Certificate in Periodontics from the University of Alabama in 1989. He is currently on staff at River Oaks hospital and at Surgicare. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Mississippi Association of Periodontists, the Southern Academy of Periodontists, and the American Academy of Periodontists. He has also served as the President of the Jackson Dental Society and as the president of the 4th District of the Mississippi Dental Association. He is presently on the Board of Trustees and on the Executive Committee of the Mississippi Dental Association. Dr. Stewart is a former assistant professor in periodontics at the University of Mississippi School of Dentistry. He is past president of the Mississippi Wildlife Federation. Dr. Stewart was born and reared in Raymond, Mississippi, where he still resides with his wife Ruth and their three children, Clarke, Jr., Susannah, and Philip. The family attends Raymond Presbyterian Church where Dr. Stewart serves as a deacon. |
